me and my crafty self!

we as you know (or don't) I do enjoy a craft now and again! so this past month I have been doing a fun challenge swap. And I didn't take picture so sorry they won't be on my crafting blog. :( bummer! So yesterday was our exchange party and it was soo fun! I just love all my friends! Last night I went to enrichment night and made some vinyl boards that are way cool. and today I am going to my mum's to learn the art of class etching lol. should make for a fun day trying to homeschoola t my moms and paint glass! haha. ok I will post pictures later! off to the DI then my moms!

Another day brings us closer

howdy all I guess I never did post about Thanksgiving!! we went to my mom and dad's for din din! day started out in caos for my mum. And ended the same anywho... we got there about 11:50 and were the last to arrive (always we are early but the last ones lol) Don's sister MAckenzie and her Hubby Shane had dinner with us, My sisters Bridgette and Wendy and their families were also there! we got everything ready trying to keep the kids outta the kitchen and sat down to eat andas my mom came down the stairs she thought she was on the last step and wasn't and fell. hit her head and hurt her knee and ankle. so we helped her to her chair and we ate. she hobbled back up the stairs and we cleaned up then we left it was to crazy to hang out. So later Dad took her to the ER and she found out she had broken her ankle! Kenz and Shane hung out at our house the rest the day. Weekend went good! DOn had it all off and we pretty much just hung out and enjoyed being together. Sunday Shane and Kenzie came out again and we deep fried a turkey and it was the BEST turkey!! it was soo moist! now here it is Thursay! I can't believe Christmas is already here! We bought a big screen TV for Christmas and Still need to get the rest of the kids. I have some of it done. I don't really have anything for them mostly just family gifts so far.

a small change in life

With in a month of moving to our house in July of 2004 iwas put into Young Women's. I remember from Relief Society one lady playing with Owen while he was on my shoulder. Then him crying (just cuz he was a baby not cuz of her) by the middle of class and so I would leave. Well so then ya I was put into YW as the Beehive advisor in August then in April of 06 I was put in as president. and It was so much fun. I really couldn't ask for a calling I would love more. I really thought it was ending I had been in denial all week. Talking myself out of it. So like Friday I ran into the bishop at the store and he looked, well not like himself he didn't talk much. I knew it then, he is usually really friendly to us and he was just kind of quiet. I went out and saw Twilight again on Saturday with my bff and when I got home Don said the bishop wanted to see me at 10:15 on the next morning. ya what else would he want to see me RIGHT before church huh? **sniff**
So I go in promising myself I won't cry, but I did and he did too. and then Sacrament meeting was coming up and again I promised myself I wouldn't cry but I did because when they announced it one of then girls gasped and started crying and it made me really sad. So here it is like over 24 hours later and I still can't talk about it or think about it cuz I am still crying. you know the worst part I didn't even get to go to YW yesterday and tell tehm how much I love em and am going to miss them cuz it was the 5th sunday and the bishop spoke to the whole ward during that hour. blah! anyway so now I am jobless in my ward. But I am really sad.

Vegas!

Well we went to Vegas for Don's sister Mackenzie's wedding and we had a blast! We played a little slots and Don won about $70 all together. of course we came home with nothing! lol We left here about 2 on Friday and got there about 7:30. We had dinner then Don & I and Kenzie & Shane hung out till about 1? maybe 2? then went to bed. The next morning we got up and ate then took off for the day. we went to Pro Bass Shop and then headed to the other side of town to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Don ended up being able to do a ride along!! he had soo much fun going 165 miles per hour lol! Then it was back to the hotel for a quick (much needed) nap. We then went to the Wedding Chapel in the limo around 6:30. The wedding was sweet. There was an Elvis wedding in process when we got there! That was pretty cool. After the wedding we went to dinner and hung out late again then got up Sunday morning and drove home.

whatever that means ok I really want to blog more but hey i'm a little busy to post and it makes me sad. anywho it SNOWED!! I love the first snow fall!
Yesterday was the elections and that is as far as I will go with that.

Sadie is finally over her cold! and potty training is still in progress. if I can get her to pee in the potty every time it would be so fabulous!

Tonight I am so privilaged to go down town tot he conference center and listen to Elder Holland and the presidencies of the YM/YW speak I am looking forward to it. I am not looking forward to the gyn appointment today however lol!

potty training

so I have been potty trainigng Sadie offa nd on for the last two months lol I am soo lazy. anyway she is actually doing really well the last two days and since I dont' need to go out tonight I can be home with her tonight keeping it up! anyway it is crazy how different kids are! My other kids were easier than this. I do think she is my most stubborn kid.. I love her!!

Almost Halloween!

So I feel really bad because my kids have hardly had any fun this wonderful season. Saturday was the big trunk or treat and I planned on going til my MIL called and said she was havinga birthday dinner at 5!! BLAH the ToT was from 3-6 well we would have only been able to be there for about an hour. so I decided to not go out and fight the crowd. I really should have dogged the fam cuz it eneded up being just awful! We found out that dons youngest sister said she wasn't coming because we were going :( We have no idea why We haven't even talked to her in like 2 years since she dropped off the face of the earth when she went lesbian. ugh sorry it is really frustrating to hear that. anywho Don was soo upset he really tried to not be mad but he was and kinda jumped down his mom's throat.

ok no more of that we did go shopping after the yucky, over-priced dinner at red lobster.

so we went shopping after the dinner and bought two Christmas presents.

most days school goes really well. as long as I can stay on task I can keep my kids on task.

so I had a really great jack background that I loved and my page looked cute well I was trying a different background and lost him and can't find him anywhere online. and all the ones I looked at weren't as cute as that one. plus I have had so many issues with the color of the writing I decided to give him up till I can find the one I originally had. so here is a new background. I love fall so it works good!

Finally!

it is the 14th?? I finally got my Halloween deco out! I am soo not on the ball! I have been so crazy busy with the kids and doing school! it really does take soo much out of me but it is so fun to have them home and for them to be able to do lots of fun stuff! nothing new in our house. but it has been a few days since I posted.

a childs prayer

you know I have been meaning to post for a few days. This past weekend we had general conference. it was so wonderful and uplifting. I used to think it was really boring and only enjoyed the weekend because I didn't have to go to church. It is amazing how life changes! I think I soo look forward to it because my testimony of the church gets stronger every day. the last talk as Pres Monson spoke I wanted to cry cuz it was over AGAIN! well I already have gone onto LDS.org and listened to one talk again. I also have had on BYU TV and enjoyed someonld talks and devotionals on there. I love church I think it is awesome!

ok- here ya go my childs prayer...

Saturday night Don didn't go to priesthood session (a special meeting for all men over 12) I was a little sad he didn't go but he hates going by himself. so he went out in the garage and decided to work on his old car. Jacob went with him to help out. about 9 jacob came in and said Dad needs you. I was like UGH now what?? so I got my butt off the couch and went outside to see what he wanted. He said he pulled a spring off and it flew he heard it land though. I was like whatever I can't find that tiny thing. so I looked around, got on my hands and knees and looked under stuff. said I don't know where it is and went back in the house (it was cold!) So a while later jacob came in and said dad found it! I said Oh Good! he said it was cuz I prayed. (heart melts) He said he prayed then don found it. after Don found it Jacob told him it was cause he had prayed. Don didn't even know jacob had prayed. he had prayed in his heart. What a faith booster! Then Don came in later and told me too. I think he is the sweetest kid!

it's that time of the year!

I LOVE fall!! Don and I met 12 years ago this month (and the month is gone already!) I love the crispness of the cold! I love to look at the mountains and see the leaves! I love the smell in the air (as long as it isn't down the new Legacy parkway EWW!)
I also love that we get the privialge to hear the words from our prophet! General conference is next week! here is a conference packet for the youngsters! Have fun! I can hardly wait to hear what our Prophet has to say!

the BEST two minute parade EVER!!!

The circus is coming to town!! hooray! we went down to the Gateway today to watch the elephant parade! WE sat out in front of the Discovey Gateway oh geez I thinkthat is the anme lol the childrens museum. anywho they gave out free popcorn, coloring books, balloons(animal and helium), cotton candy and bubbles! we packed our lunch and waitind for just over an hour to see all the fun stuff!
So let's see, there was me, Jacob, Cora, Owen, Sadie, My sister Bridgette, Katrina, Kyle, Rebecca, Andrew, Rory, and Nan (Rebecca's sister). enjoy the pictures!

weird things-facebook and babies.

as I was driving to walmart. ooo back up now this morning I jumped on Facebook which is were I hang out lol j/k I noticed a couple people interacting with people from other places in my life. hmm does this make sence.. k I belong to a moms group -WWW.saltlakecitymommies.com check it out if you haven't and if your on there HI!!! ok anyway... so there are a couple girls on tehre that I noticed posting on other people like one gal posted ona neighbors page. I grew up with him he lived two houses away HOW WEIRD!! another girl was posting to a kid I went to high school with WOW! it is such a small world!!!

you gurious why babies are weird??

ok here it is: I never liked holding babies when I had my own I didn't care to hold other peoples babies. not even my sisters kids. I just had no interest. Now I can't wait to hold my nephew tomorrow! YAY!! babies! AGG I am soo excited! tomorrow is scrapbook USA and I can't wait to go! I am not even packed! and I need to go tot eh craft store and wish they were open 24 hrs a day so I could have gone this morning while I was out. ok have a great day!!

hmm

it is saturday. Really and truelly life is just passing by right now! school is going soo much bettre. one fabulous thing I just love about it is that anything we go do that is educational can count towards hours fro school! so yesterday we made some goo and it is really cool anywho just playing around_science YUP! so awesome!. riding the bikes-PE. I think the kids are doing better.

Yesterday we had Owen's birthday party. I will post pictures later (aka-this is the reminder for me on Monday lol) I am pretty bored and I should be feedign all these kdis but I haven't so I should do that...

Birthday in da house!

Today is Owens Birthday! he turns 5!! it is amazing how quickly our kids grow! I wish I could freeze him in time right now he is still so sweet (sometimes) and innocent (again sometimes!). I thought I would share the birth story of OWen because it was so special to me and I was bright enough to write it down with in a week of his birth so there is some pretty funny things that would have been forgotten!

Here ya go:

Tuesday I went in and saw the dr and made arrangements to be started Wednesday morning if there was a room. I got up at 5:50 Wednesday morning. ya after about three hours of sleep. anyway I took a shower and we left. we got to the Hospital at 6:30 and they checked us in. I got myself compfy in a little room that resembled a large closet, (no room yet) they said we had to wait till they started discharging patients to get a room. The nurses changed shifts at 7:00am and so about 7:30 our nurse for the day came in. We filled out all our forms. whew finally. she checked me and I was almost to a 5 and my bag was bulgy. she started up the IV and pit and said she'd make sure I got the first room. within a couple minutes I thought I was losing control of my bladder and mentioned it to her. she walkd me to the Nurses lounge to use the potty. (there was no potty in the large closet) came back about 5 minutes later we got our new room!! it was about 9:15. still thinking it was normal and I was wetting myself I mentioned it to her again (about 10:30 now) she checked and said it smelled like amniotic fluid, she got a little strip of PH paper and it was positive for Amniotic fluid. so My water broke right after she had started the IV and didn't even know it. still the contractions were nothing and I was so tired of waiting, she checked me again about 11:30-12:00 and I was to a six. dum-de-dum, still waiting, I decided not to get the Epi.... okay so now The contractions really start coming fast and stronger. It's still around 12ish and I'm only to a 6 and the Ped nurse comes in and introduces herself and starts getting the baby stuff ready, they start pulling everything out and I was really confused, When I was to a 6 before I didn't deliver for a few hours. Ok now it like 12:30 and it's really starting to hurt. Ugh Now I'm wondering why I didn't just get the Epi and thinking I was going to be like this for hours. she comes and and says she's called the Dr I don't know wwhy. I think I'm going to be like this for hours.. haha I am so niave!! Don was so wonderful, remember I mentioned he painted my toenails?? and joked the nurses were going to talk about them? Well they sis haha. the Ped nurse was talking to my nurse asking if she's ever noticed about 95% of the women come in with their nails painted and about 80% are red. then they talked about twhat color their's were. it's about 1:00 now and I'm feeling like I really need to go to the bathroom. the nurse says no you'll deliver on the floor...HUH?? I'm that close?? so now I'm feeling like pushing, I was told not to push with cora so I am terrified that they are going to tell me not to push.. yea right!! I just said AAAA a need to push the nurse says go ahead! so I push of course I'm not in position, she checks me and says your almost completely thinned. uuuu I need to pussh again, she checks and I'm ready, she gets me into position.... have I seeen the DR yet?? no.. but he walked in and looks at me comes sits down. they asked me soemthing I don't have a clue I just said in some weird voice... the mirror.. so they hurried and got it adjusted and I could see the babies head. One BIG push and the baby's head is out. stop?? ugh!! one more push!! yep in 3-4 pushes he was out!!! at 1:19pm he was born. IT'S A BOY!! But I knew in my heart it was, so I wasn't suprised! oh btw as the head was out they all had to mention how big the head was... anyway they all took guesses at how heavy he was, the Ped nurse guessed right. 9lbs 10 oz. oh finally!! I just wanted to roll over and go to sleep.
as a side note. I read that during that period when your dialating those last few centimeters some women feel they want to just jump on the first bus out of town, ya I felt that, and they sat and talked about how wonderful it is we have hospitals and how horrible the pioneers had it. to deliver in the woods and out on the plains. oh geez!!
Anyway it was really so wonderful! I'm glad I did it without the epi but don't think I'd do it again by choice. Owen is soo beautiful!!

no name

ok let me say that as life passes and I blog in my head things I want to blog that never make it to writing whether it be in my personal journal or on here. I even think up funny titles. like yesterday I mowed the lawn so I thougth of a really funny title but now I can't remember it. whatever life passes by so quickly we are now three weeks into homeschooling and it is finally starting to work. I hope I didn't jsut jinx myself but we had a really great day today! Tomorrow we are haivng a meet n great a tthe park that is really close to my house so I am happy about that!


on the potty training- ya I started to PT Sadie and she pooped in the toilet today she is soo funny she will hold it for so long and then I think man I wonder if she went somewhere so I look all over the house for a wet spot and there isn't any. Today she has not wanted to wear anything so she has pretty much been naked all day. I hope things get better and she does it quickly! that would be so lovely!
Nothing else is new. I feellikea single mom almost. Don is gone all day and has been gon on the weekends too. It has been really hard but nice cuz I haven't really had time to clean my house!

September!! FINALLY!

first off let me tell you I LOVE FALL!!! I really dont' have a problem with any season but I absolutely LOVE fall! I was soo tempted to go put my new hoody on yesterday but I knew DOn would laugh at me so I didn't and it will sit int he closet till another day :( It is cooling off and it finally rained after almost two months of no rain! we had more rain on August 31 than the whole summer together!! WOW! It only got to about 60° yesterday and it was scrumptious!! of course it will start to warm back up I think today is back up to the 80's. ugh!

Ok so I decided to blog since I am having problems with the k12 website! Umm this weekend we took off for some camping adventures! We went upt o our trailor oh man I didn't take pictures!! blah! ok my mom did I will go steal some of hers! I will make anopther slide show cuz they're fun! Saturday Don saw a fire seemed fairly close and quite frankly scared the crap outta me so we decided to jump on the 4-wheelers and go see how close we were to it! so Anna (my sister) got on mine with Sadie and Owen got on with Owen. Well we took off and went up the hill a bit and (oh I thnk my dad got on his little motorcycle and came but couldn't get up the hills so headed back) ok so we got up and decided it was a lot further than we thought so Sadie totally crashed and we wanted to get closed so we dropped her off with my mom and we took off. well we were gone a long time and we were soo dusty cuz it is soo dry and of course we are sunburned. we decided to come home Sunday because of the rain well don got up early yesterday and went hunting with no luck :( so he is going again this weekend. well here they are enjoy!

I'm a GREAT AUNT!

Yep! It's true! I am!! I am so lucky Madalynn let me be there when it happened! WOW!! if you even read this because the pictures of that beautiful big baby!! Bryanna Grace Packer was born at 5:42 weighing in at 9lb 6oz, 20 1/2 inches long! It was amazing! Maddy did so good! It was soo hard for her but she did it and I am soo proud of her!

Oh I forgot!

I finished Breaking Dawn. I think a lot of people talked it up.. I thought it was good but I did like the others better. I had no prolem putting this one down it took over 2 weeks to read!

First day of school

geez and I didn't even take a picture!! lol
so today was a little frustrating but seriously why wouldn't it be?? this is our first lesson EVER! Sadie was a little put out by not having my attention when she wants. I put a movie on for her and Owen to watch while I got the kids started and helped them for a bit. But we were done with school right after lunch and I NEEDED a nap. I never use my brain that much any more!! lol I dont' mean that in a bad way just that I don't usually have my brain going in all different directions all at once. I am sure we will find a happy place and it will be come easier!
so I have had people ask so here is the website.. www.k12.com One thing I found funny was the kids wanted to do serious scince experiments because we got goggles and a measuring glass. lol They were a little dissapointed to do work on weather and Africa. haha
Cora started out in her jammies cuz she thought it would be cook to have school in her jammies but they were changed by first break (about 10:15) I think they were a big distraction.
Jacob did fine in his and had to quickly change them when regular school got out and his friends wanted to come over!
Owen Is going tobe doing the Brighter Vision for now itis a prek program which I did with Jacob. He did it a little bit last year too. Owen will be 5 in about two weeks, just barely missing the school deadline.

Let me asay fromt he last post.. they never bothered me in highschool andI was friends witha coupke of those people so I am not sure why it bothered me. life goes on!!

I am anxiously awaiting tomorrow! school starts! I am excited to try out this new program we are doing! yeah!! ANyway still waiting fro the rest of the supplies to get here!

Ok I totally loved high school! Of course there are all those goody goody's there I didn't like. I was the average nerdy superstar in HS. I had a ton of friends, all different grades. So The past few wekks I have been on facebook a little more this mornig I thought Hmm I Should go see if anyone else from school joined! ok so I do and a see I dont' remember but there is a group for the year I graduated. It is all those goody goody's I didn't care for that drov eme crazy cuz they only staye dwithin their cliche. Yeah it was fun looking thru the pictures cuz they had some elementary school pictures (thank good ness I wasnt in their class) but to see old faces. it was fun but it just annoys me that they still bother me lol. They never did any wrong to me just being themselves I suppose...

been a while?

yeah. life takes over and the days pass quickly. let's see where did we last leave you... WOW! two weeks!
k I decided to let Sadie keep her sippy's so she would have one at grandmas house.
Flaming Gorge and The Green River. Friday the 8th DOn's friend cut his hand so they invited Don to go hunting with them in case they needed the extra hand lol. ok So he went hunting instead of up to the green with us. Um we got up early Thursday morning and headed over to the church (after packing all the food) and we finally pulled out at 6:30. We had 4 girls, 6 boys, 5 leaders, and the bishop and his wife also came later. Thursday after arriving we set up camp and took off for the dam tour. That was fun I guess. since I am terrified of heights I stayed way back as we walked across the dam. anyway then we drove down to Dutch John to see where we were picking up our rafts the next day. and I bought a really good oreo shake lol. ok then we drove back to cap and hello I forgot my jacket! ARG! thank goodness it wasn't too cold. we had some dinner and then sat around and talked and played games. got up Friday mornign made some breakfast burrito's and got all our lunch stuff together int eh same cooler and we were off to the river. did I mention it was overcast? blah!! OK so we get down to Dutch John pick up our rafts. I was very nervous I feellike such a chicken cuz I'm also afraid of the water. well they all got the rafts unloaded I handed over my keys to the YM pres and jumped on the raft no fear right? lol I did this when I was younger so I wasn't too terrified. it took us 2 1/2 very cold hours going down 7 miles lol. k we were really cold cuz of the ambush of water from the other raft lol. we got 'em good and they were definately more wet than us! haha! got out of the river at Little Hole. Man that was fun I wanted to go again!! We ate lunch a little wet. (we were not lunch lol) The wind picked up and Huge black clouds covered us! That was it for me I wasnt' going again :( I was a little sad cuz I really wanted to and if I had a jacket I would have! None of the girls and a couple of boys didnt' want to go again so I drove them all back to the camp ground with teh bishops wife. I was soo tired I totally crashed and I didn't see the bishops wife till everyone else got back. well I fell asleep in the tent and Icould hear all the kids talking outside the tent. I didnt' totally crash. then I heard then start talking about all going to the boys tent to sit so I thought I had better get up and go with them. so I did and we all just talked and listened to the IPOD and sang. then it started to pour rain!! By the time everyone else got back from their second run it had stopped and we went and made Dutch oven dinner. YUM! then that night we had a nice fireside and smores and bed. I reluctantly listened to my body the next morning and dragged myself to the bathroom early. as I got out of the tent it was sooo cold and cloudy (I went and got a jacket while dinner was cooking) so happy I had a jacket. I saw the YM pres and asked when we wanted to get the kids up looked like rain. ugh it started pouring within minutes! I am proud to say the girls all got right up and we had opur stuff packed and tent down before the boys. we waited around for about a half hour for the YM to get their stuff taken care of and did some smack talk lol. We went in to Manilla to a member of the bishoprics vacation home for a fabulous bbq! and I didn't really think I would make it home cuz I was soo tired but I did! whew!
Don left Friday for his hunting trip and was gone till monday night. Cora left Monday morning for Girl scout camp. and she came home yesterday!
My sister had her Baby Saturday night named him Kyle and he weighed in at 7/10. so I think that is about as caught up as my life goes.

I really am enjoying the Olympics. They have been so fun to watch. I am really bummed I didn't get to see the womens volleyball champs play! I did get to see some sprints that were soo awesome! and of course I saw Phelps win every gold medal this year! he was amazing!

School: K If you haven't heard, my kids are attending the Utah Virtual Academy. It is a new charter school! YEAH!! it is done thru the K-12 program and they will be home! So we have gotten the computer and that's it. school work should be here by tuesday for the first day of school. My kids are really excited. Tuesday we went to a meet n greet to meet other kids/parents, learn more, ask questions, all those fun things.
ok I will try not to go soo long so that I dan't have to write another novel!
oh novel. One day I will have time to finish Breaking dawn. I'm almost there!

I got my cd with all my pictures! they are fab! I love them! I will get around to posting some I'm sure!
Nothing really is happenin around this house. finally a quiet week. Next week is the youth super activity (Youth conference) we are going up to the Green River to give it a run and I am soo excited! yeah anyway like I said nothing exciting! oh well today I took all of Sadie's sippy's away. She ALWAYS has one in her mouth! She threw a fit this morning but finally conceded and has the regular cup. YEAH! we'll see how long this lasts!

WHAT!!

yes yes I changed my music cuz half of it wasn't working! so I hope you enjoy the mostly new tunes! and seriously check out the new Cure songs. it is simply unconceivable that they would release one single a month! I can't even find the singles around here!! HOWEVER! I have snagged them on my player and in two more months I can hold the full album in my arms and lock myself in my room! thanks Robert (YA YA I know he will never read this lol) xoxo

two down two to go!

Cora was baptised yesterday! it really has been such a fantastic week! She was soo cute in her white clothes she said she was scared to go under the water it would be her like 10th time lol. She also was so lucky to have her best friend Maddison baptised with her! enjoy the pic's!

sealings, a wedding and a haircut!

yes this has been the last two days here in Sheriville. Yesterday I had the absolutely awesomest experience! I was able to go to the temple and see our neighbors sealed for time and all eternity! and if that wasn't enough I was able to see their 4 beautiful daughters sealed to them too! three of them are in my Young Womans and the other is being married tomorrow!! It was soo overwhelming I could barely contain myself! When we first moved in they had soo many struggles and the past 8-9 months they have made a complete 180 and are so different! it is amazing! and Ilove them all sooo much!!!
Then Last evening I was able to see my cousin Elnathan Married! WOW!! I used to babysit him! talk about feeling old!! lol He is soo cute and they are a cute couple!

and the haircut! I fianlly cut Sadies hair tonight!! ok it was just her bangs but I did get her to take a bath without screaming and cut her hair!! so here is three pictures!!
she is so cute don't ya think??




oh ya! we also had a couple of Cora's friends over today to swim and a small b-day party! tomorrow is her big day! She is being baptised! so I will have pic's and an update in the next couple days!

so I don't know why I haven't posted in a while. I guess a long weekend will do that? Saturday was Cora's birthday and we had a big party not really for her, We do a bbq and fireworks and had a ton of people over and it was FUN!! I will post pictures when some one sends me some lol.

It's the morning YAWN!

I really just wanted to stay in bed this morning but once I got up I was too tired to go lay back down lol. We had a lot of excitement int he neighborhood last night. our neighbor had a burning smell in her house... ok should I back up.. like about 5 months? The city came out and was putting in a drain pipe thru the small canal seperating my next door neighbor (north) and her side neighbors. they cut a line while they were digging. Whether they knew it or not is a mystery. ok fasy forward to June we come home from camp to see all these power truck in front of our house and Don talks to them and the other neighbor (South) has lost electricity. I go in the house and half our power is out including our fridge and freezer (downstairs). lovely thank goodness we weren't gone one more day. so they get us all fixed up. now the last couple weeks she said her tv has been flashing on and off. Well her son-in-law comes home today (he had been at the hospital with his new baby boy) and he calls her and says the washer isn't working. then it starts working but is really slow. she comes home and walks down the hall and smells something burning she calls her sister her sister comes over and they go int he bathroom and it is really strong burning rubber/wire smell so they call the fire department. No fire or anything but they call the power company and they come out and get them fixed up. so now everything is working but her micrwavee and Ipod dock :( they are most likely burned up. She feels totally overwelmed because her daughter has had complications with her pregnancy since Tuesday so she has had a long week.
well there was a bunch of us in the driveway standing around and there were also people driving by trying to see what was going on (you know how it is) I said I should have been laying ont he ground shaking around. it would have mede for a great story at church lol.
ok so now on a happy note I came back home and my cousin had posted pictures from monday so I will share a couple and her website. (I hope that's ok) click here to see more!

Happy Pioneer Day!!

Here in Utah we celebrate Pioneer Day. In 1847 the Pioneers walked into this lovely (they didn't think so lol) valley and Brigham Young said "This is the Place!" ok now I do realize it wasn't on the 24th of July but today is the day we celebrate. So it is a big holiday here and Don has to work :( there is abig parade downtown I didn't want to take the kids there. I'm lazy. I blind now and i don't know why. I think I looked in the sun but I don't remember. but I have blotchy eyes blah! so we had pictures taken Monday evening and I am still waiting hummdeedum..... ~jk Gina. I am bored I will write later....


so what do pioneers mean to you... For me it is deep. I always looked up to them respected them. I read "The Work and The Glory" and the "Fire of the Covenant" yearsa go and they both are great pioneer stories. Last year as we treked I also read Handcarts to Zions. and being able to walk in their footsteps has brought a greater sence of their faith. I love to talk and to read about their sacrifices though I can hardly do it with out crying. It is amazing what they did, to be persecuted and thrown out of their homes and left everything they knew and had (including family) fo rour wonderful church. I can only hope if faced with those things I could do the same. ok I know I could but so many were disowned I can't imagine the heartbreak of their families not understanding. :(

but I can't see them when I write so I can'te xplain every picture :( the first one I think is the view from the trailor. we were pretty close to the beach. then a bunch of the kids?? you know who my kids are if you frequently check us out. there is one with another little boy there there was on;y three other kids there :( but my kids can entertain themselves pretty good. umm there is a picture soemwher of the kids digging in two holes-hooked together. Don took his 4-wheeler down there and dug holes lol the kids played in them. the last wait the 5th (I think ) picture is Don's friends wife and their dog Gunner. He loved the jet skis lol
