Well this past weekend we were off camping so on Tuesday we hung around the yard like it was Monday or something!
The kids shot the beebee guns
while Don and I worked in our awesome garden
and Sadie played on the swing!
With just 2!! days left of school I can hardly wait! I love to have my kids home and I am so excited to get our summer of awesome started!
So camping ended up being a crazy weekend with a trip to the house every day it didn't feel much like the weekend I had expected. I thought Don was bringing out ATV's down so I didn't tell him to bring my sisters trailer down so Saturday we decided to head home and get it. We switched vehicles and brought it on down. Sunday morning he realized he left the trailer keys in the vehicle at home no biggie we could just lock the door knob. Then he realized the car keys were also home! ACK! So it totally sucked but I had no choice but to come home. and then we headed home on Monday. Kids took friends and they had fun. Cora's friend wants to go again.
Since Sadie has been out of school for a week a wanted to use our season passes to the aquarium. Just her and I have them. We headed out this morning and were only there for about 45 minutes because there were about 3 field trips there and big kids like to stand in front of little kids and it was so noisey I was getting a little anxious so we headed home and watched Finding Nemo.
Sadie loves the jelly fish. She has to see them 3 times
and I think the sea otters are adorable,
but not as cute as my Sadie Bug!

missed opportunity
Yesterday in church our Relief Society lesson was on Scripture study. At the beginning of the lesson I heard a "hand this to Sheri" And then I had a slip of paper on my lap. I looked down on it and read: What have you learned from reading the scriptures that blesses your life?
WHAT THE???? I am not savvy in my words. I don't want to sound stupid. but the whole lesson I thought about this question so when my time came I could say something. I even was asked to say the opening prayer by my mind slipped and the question was the only thing on my mind so I was one of those that gets looked at and I jump up to say it!
The lesson was so great! We have some really fabulous teachers in our ward! Before I knew it time was up the first bell had rang and the teacher started to wrap up her lesson but then she read my question and some other hands went up. I really wanted to answer but I really wanted to go home to so I didn't raise my hand.
In my patriarchal blessing it tell me to never hesitate to share my testimony, so many time I hesitate... so now I sit here to tell you, whoever reads this, what I have learned from reading the scriptures that blesses my life.
I have never been a great scripture reader and have never confessed to be one. After a sweet experience earlier this year, that I won't share at this time, I realized I needed to start again and start reading every day. I have, in conversation, remembered scriptures that I could share to help someone with a difficulty. This past week I caught up with our Sunday School lesson and actually could do more than just read the scripture to participate! I could actually understand more fully what our teacher was teaching! It was a much more fulfilling class!
I encourage my kids to read more, we try to do family scripture study but with a busy life it gets so hard! I have decided if we just get one in a week we can spread it out eventually to more days. Even if I have the kids read a passage then we can talk about it later.
I guess I can't really put in words how the scriptures have blessed my life but to say I feel a lot closer to my Heavenly Father, I forgive more easy and judge less, It has strengthened my testimony and left me tears while reading them while picking up my kids. I have a greater love for the Book of Mormon. I do believe every word of it. It is a life changing book! I think it makes me feel like I am a better person inside. It keeps me away from the world media, I listen to some great podcast from the mormon channel.
It really has changed my life and I am thankful for it and that I listened to the Holy Ghost tell me it was time for a change.

And Like I said CAMPS! Owen has one 2 day camp, Jacob has 3 week/half week camps and Cora has 2 week camps. I have a couple races in there two. Plus I am helping with the Cross Country team summer runs. I also thought about getting a family pass to the city pool since I won't be putting mine up this year! Our little neighbors are always in my unfenced yard and I can't take the chance of one of them getting in. oh and HELLO!! I want to do some Friday night movies too!! Last year we borrowed a friend projector, hung a sheet and watched movies in the back yard!!
project one... find the cord to my camera so I can put empty the camera and actually be able to use it!!

Hello May, where did you come from?
I do have to admit I don't blog often but I also have two blogs... I am an avid runner and try to keep that blog up to date but SERIOUSLY!!! Where ARE my priorities!! Family First!! Hey, I'm working on it, and it is a big challenge!! It is beautiful and I am a quarter of the way done with my marathons this year, in a month I will be 3/4 the way done lol!! Although I have drastically cut my races down this year I put 4 marathons on my schedule and three of them are within a 7 week period. nothing like doing it all out!! umm why am I talking about running? go here if you want more of that.... Tomorrow we celebrate Mother's!! I expect to get a handful of things from my cute kids that they've been working on in school that is about it! And I don't care!! Don's work is in jeopardy right now and so we are tightening the belts. I went to Bunko (dumb dice game-seriously, I do it for the socialization!!) the other night and saw the cutest thing in the world and thought I should make that for my mom!!! everyone said you don't have time.. well mine might not be as fancy but I did make time and I think it turned out beautifully and I CAN'T WAIT TO GIVE IT TO HER!! It was so fun looking for pictures going through everyone's Facebook looking ;). And sadly I don't know if I still even have my crafty blog... I should look for it, maybe I deactivated it cuz I never use it!! boo. I need to do that more!! I am so excited for summer!! I really am!! I have weekly activities planned for the kids! And I think we will get a swim pass at the pool down the street instead of putting ours up. The next door neighbor comes and goes and he is so little and our yard isn't fenced I just can't risk it!! I love my family!! So happy I get to spend eternity with them!!
**update- my mom LOVED it!! She sat and looked at it for a minute then I noticed she was all choked up and couldn't talk. Mom liking it? mission accomplished!
