Herb Gardens!!

So I decided this year I wanted an herb garden! I didn't know what to plant or anything but this week my sister Anna is visiting. We had a neighbor over last night and she invited me to go to the nursery this morning. I got up and really didn't want to go and told Anna I was just gonna tell her I didn't want to but Anna said she wouldn't mind going. well what do you know I come home with a bunch of new herbs that I now need to grow and learn to use!! We got all our herbs, came home, got on Pinterestand found some fun ways to make our gardens. we headed to get Sadie from school and go to Smiths Marketplace and then head over to the DI (local thrift shop). We found some cute baskets to do them in but I said to anna lets go in teh back and look one more time for something. And we found it! It was a cd holder. I grabbed a couple of mason jars and set them on it and it looked way cute!!

ANNA'S HERB GARDEN! I did mine in a big cute basket and found a little pot set I had in my shed (still in the box). I also had this old cute box that I set them in/on top of!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Hey world!! I finally did it!! I cut my hair last night! Someone asked me this morning if it was hard and if I cried. my reply.... :) It is like an old boyfriend I was soo ready for it to go I didn't care!!

I have been thinking about doing this for months. It ended up being a little longer than I really wanted but my friend was afraid to cut it any shorter! So here is a video and a before and after picture!! what do you think?? 20 1/2 inches gone! This hair will be sent off to Locks of Love! They need 10 inches for a wig so I guess this will make 2 girls happy!!

A beautiful winter day!

It is still winter but we haven't had much of a winter at all. Today it is already 54° and still climbing. Don is working on a neighbors car, Jacob is off with Project Strive, Cora earned some money and is begging me to take her to the dollar store, Owen is playing with a friend and Sadie is playing in her room. Not much is going on today. It is nice to have a Saturday to not have plans and be able to sit and relax! Tonight we are going to a ward dinner that has a Chinese theme so I borrowed my mom's kimono.

I have been trying to decide if I should cut my hair. I need to remind myself my hair does not define who I am, but it is such a big part of me. I really want to but I really love it long, although most of the time it is up in a bun and really drives me bonkers when it is down. I guess I want to cut it but am afraid I won't like it short any more. I am totally rambling... I know...

HaPpY LeAp DaY!!!!

So February 2012 is in the books! We have had a fun month! Cora joined the Spirit Squad at school. It is like a cheer group. She had tons of fun although it was pretty dysfunctional!










I think she loved it because her best friend was in it too!




Sadie lost her FIRST tooth!! She was sooo scared!! She didn't want her teeth to fall out!! Anna was here visiting and we had to convince her it would hurt less if we just pulled it so she finally let Anna pull it (for some extra $$)





We also had a couple birthdays!! Jacob turned 13!!! He decided to have just one friend and him go to Classic Skating and play there for a few hours. I feel bad I didn't even take pictures of him!

I did promise pictures of Don from his party!! but he is never serious so here ya go! lol





Now we have March here! I am in for a month full of running I have 3 races, one of which I am pacing! I am excited for March, I feel a great change coming, I'm not sure why! But I am at peace with it and I have no idea what it is.

can I make a new years resolution?

OK As we sat here tonight don commented and said someone posts their blogs and let's me read it, you never let me read yours, so I guess I should keep up with it some everyone can read it! SO I sent him the link. lol

Life is pretty busy. Jacob just turned 13! And Don turns 40 on Friday!! I will be sure to take pictures at his party and post them! I will take one day a week to update and keep on top of things it is a great Sunday activity, don't ya think?

Owen's Baptism!!

What an EXTRA special day for Owen!! He was baptized and confirmed on his birthday!!! September 10, 2011. A few weeks before I was trying to figure out the date that he could be baptized on, as I talked to the ward mission leader he said we could do it any time, the more I thought about it the more I thought how cool it would be for him to be baptized on his birthday so I talked to the WML again and he said that is fine, he then called me to tell me that is actually the stake baptism day because of the holiday weekend the week before. So we got it all planned and I thought we could just do hot dogs at our house after cause Owen LOVES hot dogs! After talking to some friends they said the y had a projector so we decided to do a movie on the garage wall. Owen invited his class and I think almost all of them came!! I have over 35 people in my backyard, and I think there were about 8 adults! We watched Rio. Which was a cute movie, We popped popcorn I bought candy and bbq some hot dogs when it finally started getting dark we started the show. The kids were really good for the most part! But Owen had a great day!! It is always fun to have friends over! I love it!

another year goes by...

I can't really believe it has been a year since I last wrote on here! Life has changed dramatically. I have been so busy with other stuff that my blog has gone away to the side.
We decided after much prayer to close our shop. It really was such a struggle financially and emotionally. We did this right before Christmas. Don was told he could come back to his old job but when it came down to it they wouldn't bring him back on. Because we never paid ourselves we could not collect unemployment and Don did what he could out of hour garage at home till he finally secured a job in March with Water Movers in Salt Lake. He has been happy there so far. Right before he started a job I got him out running with me occasionally and he has also taken up cycling. He ran a 5k in February and March with me, February I beat him and March he beat me and I haven't been able to catch him yet. I started bringing him to a running club I meet with and he has made some good friends and was able to join their team for this years Ragnar next weekend.

Jacob- Oh boy! He is growing up so quickly! He turned 12 in February and LOVES young men's and has really done well in school this year. He starts Junior High next year and really wants to play the Trumpet.

Cora -She is the same old Cora with a little more attitude-tween.. that's all I gotta say. She is loves going to school and has made some new really great friends this year!

Owen-Has finally put on a couple inches! He had a great year at school and has really started to become his own person. He is being baptised this fall! I can't believe it!!

Sadie-My baby, my last child. She turned 5 a month ago. And she starts Kindergarten this fall boohoo!! She is soo excited!
